- SUMMARY OF KEY FUNCTIONS
Alfalah -ul-Alami (AuA) as a profit-based company contracted by Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, in partnership with national international companies, is dedicated to establishing a cement factory that produces high-quality cement products in Afghanistan. AUA is currently seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Officer to join our team. The incumbent for this position will play a vital role in ensuring the implementation of environmental health and safety standards across our company’s operation.
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, implement, and update health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential hazards, evaluate risks, and recommend corrective actions.
- Design and deliver comprehensive training programs tailored to various levels of the company to educate employees on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and environmental compliance.
- Stay up-to-date of emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to environmental health and safety, and adapt safety protocols accordingly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, to integrate safety considerations into project planning, design, and execution.
- Develop and oversee emergency response plans, conduct regular drills and simulations, and ensure the organization is well-prepared for any emergencies.
- Manage and maintain safety data sheets and ensure all hazardous materials are properly labeled and stored according to regulations.
- Coordinate with external agencies and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with environmental health and safety requirements and facilitate inspections.
- Lead safety meetings, committees, and awareness campaigns to promote a culture of safety and risk prevention within the company.
- Develop and implement waste management programs to minimize environmental impact and ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by supervisor
- EDUCATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, or a related field.
- At least 3 years Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within mining sectors.
- Strong knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

- Proficiency in Dari or Pashtu is required.
