Job Summary
The IT Officer is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the company's IT systems, including providing technical support, managing network infrastructure, ensuring data security, and supporting all software and hardware needs. This position plays a key part in enabling efficient digital operations at both the Kabul main office and field offices.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide first-line IT support to all staff in Kabul and field offices.
- Install and configure hardware (computers, printers, routers, etc.).
- Maintain and troubleshoot software and operating systems.
- Monitor and manage local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN).
- Ensure cybersecurity practices are implemented, including firewalls and antivirus systems.
- Set up and manage user accounts and access rights.
- Conduct regular data backups and maintain disaster recovery systems.
- Provide technical support for virtual meetings and communication platforms.
- Maintain and update IT asset inventory.
- Train staff on new systems and software usage.
- Ensure internet connectivity is stable and secure.
- Coordinate with external IT service providers when needed.
- Document all IT procedures and troubleshooting steps.
- Research and recommend IT improvements and upgrades.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in IT support roles.
- Strong knowledge of networking, hardware, and software systems.
- Experience with data backup, recovery, and cybersecurity protocols.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple IT tasks efficiently.
- Good communication and training skills.
- Ability to travel to field offices if required.
