Job Summary
AUA is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Survey Engineer. The Survey Engineer conducts land and engineering surveys to support construction and infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include collecting and analyzing topographic data, preparing survey reports, verifying project layouts, and ensuring the accuracy of survey measurements. The incumbent maintains survey equipment, collaborates with technical teams, and ensures all survey activities comply with safety and project standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducting surveys and gathering data for land development and construction projects.
- Designing and setting up survey systems, including total stations and GPS receivers.
- Performing calculations and analyzing data to produce accurate survey reports.
- Collaborating with other team members, including survey technicians, engineers, and project managers.
- Conducting preliminary survey for selected roads or Irrigation sites as per program plan, this includes visual survey, photos, map checking and site visits.
- Maintaining and updating survey equipment and software.
- Ensuring the accuracy of survey data and verifying that all survey projects are completed within budget and on time.
- Providing technical support to team members and clients.
- Maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all safety regulations.
- Planning and conducting an engineering survey for the selected roads, structures and civil works, including a Topographic survey and recording all site related details.
- Checking the layout of the structures e.g. center line, culverts, bridges, building and irrigation structures.
- Prepare survey data and survey reports to commence road or structure design.
- Responsible to ensure surveying equipment is in good working order.
- Perform any other duty in line with these TOR’s as assigned by the Senior Civil Engineer
Job Requirements
EDUCATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in surveying engineering, Geomatics, or related field
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 7 years practical experience in survey and plotting of construction and irrigation projects.
SKILLS and ABILIITES:
- Knowledge and ability to apply computer applications that include MS Office, internet, Auto CAD, Civil 3D, Total Station and GIS.
- Experience in using modern surveying equipment and software
- Proficiency in geographic information systems (GIS)
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Experience in project management
- Expertise in using survey equipment and software, including total stations, GPS receivers, and survey analysis software.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work long hours when required.
4. LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Excellent knowledge of both written and spoken English. Must be able to write reports in English. · Proficiency in Dari or Pashtu is required.
