Mineral Exploration for Industrial Plants Is a Vital Necessity

This statement was made by H.E. Hidayatullah Badri, Minister of Mines and Petroleum of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, during his visit to the field office and the ongoing mineral exploration activities of Al Falah ul Alami Company in Jabal Saraj, Parwan Province.

During his visit to Parwan, the Minister highly appreciated the mineral and cement raw material exploration works carried out by national geologists and emphasized that mineral exploration plays a crucial role in confirming raw material reserves required for the establishment of industrial production plants.

He further stated that the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum is fully prepared to provide all necessary cooperation to Al Falah ul Alami and Awfi Bahram Companies, which are responsible for the construction of the Safwan Cement Plant in Jabal Saraj, in order to finalize construction activities as soon as possible and commence production.

The Minister also highlighted that Afghanistan currently offers favourable investment opportunities, and that the private sector and national investors, alongside the Islamic Emirate, play a vital role in the reconstruction and development of the country.

Subsequently, Mr. Safiullah Saber, Chairman of Al Falah ul Alami Company, expressed his sincere appreciation for the Minister’s visit and support for the establishment of industrial plants, particularly the Safwan Cement Plant. He stated that Al Falah ul Alami and Awfi Bahram Companies are making tireless day-and-night efforts, utilizing all available resources and capacities, to accelerate the construction process and will spare no effort in achieving this goal.

He added that the company is carefully prioritizing the exploration of cement raw materials, the selection of appropriate machinery, and the sustainability of facilities to ensure that the Safwan Cement Plant, equipped with modern technology, delivers the highest-quality cement to the people of Afghanistan and contributes to national self-sufficiency in the cement sector.

Likewise, Haji Pahlawan, Chairman of Awfi Bahram Company, stated during his meeting with the Minister that the companies will soon sign a construction contract with one of the internationally reputable companies.

He further noted that, in order to ensure greater accuracy and quality, negotiations are underway with well-established international consulting firms to comprehensively supervise the technical processes of the Safwan Cement Plant.

It is worth mentioning that Al Falah ul Alami Company, which is responsible for the implementation and construction of the Safwan Cement Plant, has successfully completed the mineral and cement raw material exploration phase in less than ten months. The mineral resources are available in sufficient quantity and quality at the site, and major infrastructure works are expected to commence in the near future.
