Job Summary

The Inventory Manager is responsible for leading, planning, and overseeing all inventory management functions to ensure optimal stock levels, accuracy, accountability, and operational efficiency. The role focuses on developing strategic inventory control systems, supervising warehouse inventory operations, minimizing stock discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards. The Inventory Manager plays a key role in safeguarding company assets and supporting operational continuity through effective inventory planning and control.

Key Responsibilities

  •   Develop and implement comprehensive inventory management strategies, policies, and standard operating procedures.

  •   Lead and supervise inventory and warehouse staff to ensure accurate stock handling, documentation, and reporting.

  •   Monitor and control inventory levels to maintain optimal stock balances and prevent overstocking or stock-outs.

  • Establish and oversee inventory tracking systems to ensure real-time visibility and accuracy of stock data.

  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies.

  •   Implement internal control mechanisms to safeguard inventory assets and minimize losses, damages, and shrinkage.

  • Oversee proper stock classification, storage methods, and warehouse organization to improve efficiency and traceability.

  • Analyze inventory trends, consumption patterns, and stock movements to support forecasting and procurement planning.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security standards related to inventory storage and handling.

  • Prepare and present detailed inventory reports, variance analyses, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy, warehouse efficiency, and cost control.

  • Coordinate with Procurement, Finance, Engineering, and Operations departments to align inventory planning with project and operational needs.

  • Oversee inventory documentation including stock cards, inventory registers, system records, and audit documentation.

  • Ensure proper use and optimization of inventory management software and related systems.

 

Qualifications

CORE COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong knowledge of advanced inventory management systems, controls, and best practices.

  • Ability to lead, supervise, and develop inventory teams effectively.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret inventory data and cost impacts.

  • Ability to identify inventory risks and implement mitigation strategies.

  • Proven ability to design and implement efficiency-driven inventory systems.

  • High level of accuracy in monitoring stock records and compliance.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments.

JOB REQUIRMENTS:

1.      EDUCATIONS:

·         Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Accounting, Logistics, or a related field, master's degree preferred.

2.      WORK EXPERIENCE:

·         Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in inventory management or warehouse management roles.

·         At least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.

·         Experience in mining, construction, manufacturing, or heavy industry is highly preferred.

3.      SKILLS and ABILIITES:

·         Strong knowledge of inventory control systems, stock valuation methods (FIFO, LIFO, Weighted Average), and audit processes.

·         Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems.

·         Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.

·         Experience in developing inventory KPIs and performance monitoring systems.

·         Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

·         Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

·         Understanding of internal controls, compliance, and warehouse safety standards.

 4.      LANGUAGE SKILLS:

·         Excellent knowledge of both written and spoken English.

·         Proficiency in Dari and Pashtu is required.

·         Reporting to Had of Administration & operation, this position has working relationship with operation coordinator, communication and public relationship manager, finance coordinator, filed office manager, advisor and all staff
